Wednesday, Aug 16 - Lassen Volcanic National Park
Second of three group trips. A circle-trip through the center of Lassen Volcanic National Park via paved roads. This is a full day trip. It’s highly unusual to use one of our 3 trips during the week for a paved route, but everyone will want to see these sights anyway. We’ll enter the park at the south end and exit at the north. This will put the sun to our backs for the view of Mt. Lassen with Manzanita Lake in the foreground. After that there’s an opportunity for SHOWERS at Manzanita Lake Campground ($$ - Coins). Before heading back to camp, we’ll pass by the gas station at Old Station again. Highlights
Trip length from Butte Lake Campground (Clockwise loop trip, not including spurs to sights.) - 13 Miles unpaved - 132 Miles paved roads - 145 total miles |
