4x4 TRAILS STORIES CAMP SYNCRO PHOTOS PARTICIPANTS ACTIVITIES RESOURCES
Four-wheeling routes of Syncro Safari, Oregon '07.
Our group of Syncronauts took on 4x4 trails on Monday and Wednesday in the Bend area.
Taylor Lake - Monday, August 13, 2007
On Monday, our route was west of Paulina Lake where we visited small lakes and lunched and played at a large lake. The trip was through forests including the “Ghost Forest” of white, still standing trees remaining after a forest fire.
Ice Cave, Fort Rock, Crack-In-The-Ground and Christmas Valley Sand Dunes - Wednesday, August 15, 2007
Wednesday’s trip was a route south and east from Paulina Lake. We traveled quite a ways on simple graded dirt roads and they made quite a dust cloud. We visited several natural geological features including “Ice Cave”, “Fort Rock”, and “Crack-in-the-Ground” and then finished the fun at Christmas Valley Sand Dunes.
MogFest - Friday, August 17, 2007
On Friday we found ourselves at MogFest, west of Salem Oregon. The 4-wheeling action was of a different variety there, replacing the trekking/exploring trips of Syncro Safari with the vehicular fun that one can do in known terrain close to support. Some Syncro Safari attendees, including Craig Spaeth who took the off-site MogFest 4-wheeling trip.
