Syncro SafariTM, Kodachrome 2020 July 12 -July 18
Syncro SafariTM, Kodachrome 2020 Overview July 12 - July 18The 2020 Syncro Safari adventure was in and around Kodachrome Basin State Park in scenic southwest Utah. Our "Camp Syncro" base camp was Oasis group campground, near many attractions in the region as well as centrally located to our three 4-wheeling routes.
The 2020 adventure included, 4-wheeling, and opportunities to see the park's popular attractions including unusual geologic spires and other formations. We also visited Bryce Canyon National Park, took a hike through Willis Creek slot canyon, visited a waterfall, a couple creeks and a couople lakes as part of our event. As is the norm for a Syncro Safari adventure, this was a semi-intimate event limited to 10 Syncros, allowing everyone to get to know the others in the group. By the end of the week, people who just met started to feel like family. |
Kodachrome Basin State Park
Sixty-seven monolithic stone spires called sedimentary pipes accentuate multi-hued sandstone layers revealing 180 million years of geologic time. The color and beauty found here prompted a 1948 National Geographic Society expedition to name the area Kodachrome after the popular color film. Kodachrome Basin, as its name implies, is a spectacle of massive sandstone chimneys changing in color with the day's mood.
